It is quite incredible how quickly HRS has grown as a company over the last two years. HRS is now a major player in Central Queensland with contracts on most Industrial sites in Gladstone, Mine Sites in the Emerald Region, a mix of Residential, & Industrial work in Rockhampton. Quite a journey from a few short years ago.

An important aspect of HSEQ Systems is to ensure continuous improvement in the way we run our business. HRS are now implementing a 2D & 3D design division of the business that will not only provide us with better clarity of design, but also automatically generate a gear list. The software utilises AutoCAD capability, and will further enhance HRS’s capability with a significant point of difference from our competitors..

This expansion has not happened by chance. As well as our well regarded HRS team, our business is supported by Health, Safety, Environment and Quality systems. Having systems such as this in place are a prerequisite to work with the majority of customers we work with. Having systems documented and in place is one thing, but complying with those systems is quite another. Just as an example our major contracts require HRS to have a HSEQ Plan in place. Each plan has a number of key objectives which we are held accountable to. It is important that as we conduct our work, we are mindful of those requirements, in order that HRS will continue to be considered for future business.

To give you an idea what objectives are in place for many of our key contracts, each plan covers at a minimum:-

SWMS, Pre Start Meetings, Toolbox Meetings, Site Observations, Workplace Inspections, Audits, Vehicle Pre Start Inspections, Fall Protection Equipment Inspections, Equipment Pre Start Inspections, Take 5's, Rescue Plans, Incident Investigation requirements, Training requirements

Each of the above requirements helps keep our team safe, demonstrates compliance with legal requirements, and proves we are working in a structured and systematic manner.

KPI's have been introduced this month to help understand how we are performing against each of these objectives. KPI's are one thing but it is worth bearing in mind our customers will ultimately decide whether our performance warrants continued business.
