This is to be achieved through consultation between management, employees, treating doctors and rehabilitation services. It will involve a cooperative team approach by all concerned. It is the aim of HRS to: • Minimise pain and suffering as well as the effects on other members of the injured employee’s family • Speedily reinstate injured or incapacitate d employees to their previous employment or to restore them to the highest level of fitness achievable, according to medical and professional advice. • Provide a structured program that minimises absence from work • Offer temporarily disabled workers, duties i n useful positions, where rehabilitation does not involve time off work and where alternative duties are an option. This will enable them to use their accumulated skills through a graduated scale of achievable tasks, to reach full recovery. It is the company’s intention to continuously review the approach to occupational rehabilitation through the combined input of medical, social, vocational and educational specialists to achieve the highest possible level of function for persons returning to work.
